REF Runs Duvall 5K/10K : Fun Runs in the Sun

Dear Editor,

On June 5, 2010, Riverview Education Foundation hosted the 5th annual Duvall 5K/10K Runs under sunny blue skies. It was a great morning of competition and camaraderie and REF wants to say “thank you!” to Duvall and the surrounding running communities for your participation.  We also want to say “thanks!” to our amazing volunteers : this event was made possible by a dedicated group of course marshals, medical personnel, water station workers, registration volunteers, post-race food coordinators, sweeps, pacers, photographers and finish chute workers.  Without them, there would simply be no race. They do a tremendous job!

Hats off to our wonderful sponsors as well! Please visit them here: http://www.refweb.org/duvallrun_sponsors.htm   We sure are grateful for their help and support – their generosity makes fundraising for health and wellness programming in the Riverview School District a reality. We sincerely appreciate their hands-on community involvement.

So a big thanks to all of you and save the date: we’ll see you at the start line on June 4, 2011!

Wishing you the Best of Times,

Paige Denison, Race Director                           Dean Vergillo, Course Director

We need your input.  We need you to tell the Duvall Days Organization your thoughts.  Although we have received nothing but gratitude from our local businesses regarding the business boost after a long wet spring, we know you have more to say.  Are you willing to say?

We need to know your opinion.  Please take a moment to answer the short-short survey.  (Survey available on the right of your screen)  A free subscription is required to vote, and it takes less than 2 minutes.  There are 4 specific questions you will be asked to answer.

1. Did you like the street being closed all day?

2.  Do you want a beer garden?

3.  Do you want fireworks?

4.  Would you be willing to pay $5.00

Thanks to all the volunteers and all of you who wrote letters to the city already regarding how much you loved the festival.   We know it was a change, and we appreciate the community’s willingness to be involved.  There is however people who weren’t so happy, and unfortunately they tend to make the most noise.  We need to know all of it so we can make the appropriate decisions that serve the majority.

Make it a great day!
